Logistics Manager

As a member of the operations team, the Logistics Manager will ensure supply chain network optimization by balancing customer satisfaction, direct costs, and wider company objectives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze current and future logistical demands and develop strategies for supply chain optimization, including usage of captive fleet, owner operators, and large-scale logistics partners.
  • Develop transportation strategies and schedules that ensure efficient warehouse and farming operations.
  • Work with materials management personnel to ensure the efficient coordination of the timely delivery of production materials to processing facilities and co manufacturing partners.
  • Work with Supply Chain Specialists to develop a process that ensures accuracy of the farm collection plan.
  • Work with customers, sales team, logistics, and planning to develop a process which schedules and maintains delivery appointments which are acceptable to the customer and the operations team.
  • Work closely with brokers to negotiate preferrable carrier rates and regularly carry out RFP’s for heavily utilized freight lanes.
  • Troubleshoot logistics issues as they arise

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years logistics management experience in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to communicate information to others at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to resolve conflict and handle stressful situations
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Proficient computers skills
